Let’s work together!
Motivated students and postdocs are welcome to apply at any time (contact: ragazzon@unistra.fr) I am committed to support strong candidates willing to apply for external funding, in order to craft high-quality applications.
If you are interested in the group topics, please let’s get in touch. General areas of interest are: supramolecular chemistry, non-equilibrium systems, electrochemistry, synthetic chemistry, organocatalysis, polymer chemistry, and active matter.
Postdocs
The preferred way to join the group is to apply for external funding together. Candidates should contact Giulio well before the specific deadline, sending a CV. Typically, you will be asked to propose a potential project, see advice from a Nobel prize recipient.
Marie Curie Fellowships. Ideal candidates have a strong background that is complementary to the group. The deadline is usually in September, therefore if you are interested to apply for a Marie-Curie Individual Fellowship, please contact Giulio well in advance (ideally in spring).
Please check if specific opportunities are available to you.
PhD Students / Doctorants
The lab’s philosophy is to address general questions, by performing well-designed experiments on artificial molecules. Therefore, prospective PhD students should aim at becoming complete scientists, capable of synthesizing molecules, performing sharp experiments, rationalizing the observed behavior, and communicating their findings.
MRT Fellowships. About 14 PhD scholarships in chemistry are available each year, upon a highly competitive selection. Applications are typically due in April to start the PhD in October. Further instructions can be found at the Chemistry Doctoral School website.
Students belonging to ENS or CSC Graduate School may have unique financial support, thus are encouraged to get in contact.
Master Students
Motivated students interested in performing their final project in our lab are encouraged to contact Giulio. Please state briefly your past experience and which techniques and topics you would be interested to engage with, in our group.
We are happy to host international Master students.
If you are doing your Bachelor studies and you are interested in supramolecular chemistry and non-equilibrium systems, you might want to apply for the CSC Graduate School in Complex Systems Chemistry, which offers high-level training in a stimulating environment (all courses are taught in English), while you will be supported by an integrated Master and PhD scholarship.
